Holidays with your dog at Apart Gabriele in St. Anton am Arlberg

This straightforward route is ideal for a first morning walk or a short evening stroll. From Apart Gabriele, it crosses the Adi-Werner Bridge towards EldoRADo and the Verwall entrance. The same path then leads back to the accommodation.

The Verwallweg is one of the most beautiful walking and hiking trails for a holiday with your dog in St. Anton. The route leads through meadows and woodland into the Verwall Valley and around Lake Verwall. A particular highlight is the 35-metre-long suspension bridge over the Rosanna.

Elevation gain: around 320 metres
Difficulty: easy
Shade and water: long shaded sections of woodland, as well as the Rosanna and Lake Verwall along the route. Natural water should not automatically be considered safe to drink.
Winter: Parts of the Verwall area are groomed as winter walking trails or cross-country skiing routes. Check the current opening status before setting off.
Grazing livestock: During the summer months, you may encounter grazing livestock.
Tip: Take water, a lead and, in warm weather, a foldable drinking bowl with you

For active dogs and guests who enjoy hiking, the walk to the Konstanzer Hütte is an ideal choice. The walk leads from Apart Gabriele through the Verwall Valley, past Lake Verwall and the Salzhütte, to the Konstanzer Hütte. The return journey follows the same route.

Distance: approx. 11 kilometres each way, around 22 kilometres in total
Elevation gain: around 430 metres
Difficulty: moderate; good fitness required for both humans and dogs
Shade and water: In the lower Verwall Valley there are many wooded sections, later giving way to increasingly open valley and alpine pasture areas. Streams and bodies of water are found along the route, but you should still bring plenty of your own drinking water.
Winter: not suitable as a regular winter hike to the Konstanzer Hütte
Grazing livestock: In summer, you may encounter grazing livestock in the area around the alpine pastures and the hut.
Tip: Only set off in suitable weather conditions and check the opening times of the Konstanzer Hütte in advance.

Dogs should be kept on a short lead when walking through alpine pastures and grazing areas. Always keep a safe distance from cattle, particularly cows with calves.

If a grazing animal threatens to attack, let the dog off the lead immediately. This allows the dog to escape and prevents the person from becoming trapped between the dog and the cattle.

Dogs are permitted on public transport operated within the Verkehrsverbund Tirol network. They must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle. Small, harmless animals transported in a suitable carrier, as well as assistance dogs, are exempt from certain requirements. Dogs travel free of charge on buses, trains and trams when both the starting point and destination are within Tyrol.

Important: Always carry a lead and muzzle when travelling on public transport.

Dogs may be transported on the summer mountain lifts while they are in operation. For the summer season, the published transport fee for dogs is €7. Dogs must wear a muzzle during the journey. According to the current fare information, a muzzle can be purchased at the ticket offices for €9 if required. Prices and transport conditions may change and should therefore be checked again before your trip.
